In the last 20 years, the rise of smartphones and digital changes has given consumers more control and information than ever before. Let’s rewind a bit. Back in the day, construction was all about doing things by hand, with lots of paperwork, making it a real struggle to juggle projects, and budgets, develop creative visions, monitor efficiency, or involve the homeowner. Fast forward to today, where homeowners are practically born with smartphones in hand and digital know-how on their minds, they're all about a tech-savvy lifestyle.
The Tech Wave in Construction
True, the construction realm might have been a bit slow to catch up compared to other industries. But now it's finally stepping up, breaking away from the old-school practices. We're entering a new era - one that's dynamic, high-tech, and interconnected. Companies are embracing software, drones, and various technologies to keep up with the evolving demand.
The surge in digital tools isn't just about making processes smoother; it's all about injecting smarts, innovation, and seamless integration into how we build and design things. As projects get more complex and clients more savvy, going digital becomes key for the future of home design and construction.
I am already looking forward to attending the International Builder Show in Las Vegas at the end of February to see and learn what’s new in tech, kitchens, prefab and to connect with other people.

We started Junique because we wanted to bring a smarter, more predictable approach with less error to home projects. Our mission is to provide a better client experience through detailed conceptual planning and proactive communication and reporting using digital tools. This includes 3D renderings, shared programs, or specialized software like "Buildertrend".
Initially, we adopted the Google Suite, incorporating tools like Dropbox, Slack, and Trello for improved information sharing. However, my enthusiasm soared when I collaborated with a builder using Buildertrend. This software became a game-changer, providing a one-stop solution for all and making everything better. It's a cloud-based project management tool for real-time collaboration and reporting at every construction stage.
I stumbled upon the Buildertrend podcasts and got completely hooked since it was right up my alley. Listening to builder stories and how new tools have turned around their businesses was exciting and a great learning experience. Subsequently, I took online courses and earned certifications in Project Management, Office Management, and Selections Management. The real magic happens when you connect the dots, duplicate processes using templates, and automate actions. This creates a robust foundation for scaling. Anyway, I can’t wait to use it more and become even better at it!
